THERE’S SNOW ON THE TRAIL!

The forecast is for clear skies this weekend - it may be the perfect time to play in the snow on the trail. The trail is covered with a thick blanket of snow and looks good for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding, or just hiking. Peter Prevost took pictures at the Vedder Road access, where there is good parking. (He’s the volunteer who keeps the trail at the Burney end free of trash.) There’s lots of parking at the Burney Trailhead, as well. In Siskiyou County there are a lot of access points, but parking will be harder to find. You might need to park at the Hwy 89 turnoffs and hike to the trail. Pilgrim Creek Road is still closed.
